Based on the serial number, it appears this rifle was manufactured in 1983.

Condition: Stock/wood is overall in very good condition, with small wood dent on right side below the rear sight, two scratches on bottom of stock on fore end, and some blemishes on bottom of stock near the butt pad. Some blemishes and small scratches noted on barrel and receiver. Overall, I would estimate the bluing to be about 85%. The bore appears bright and shiny when I used a pen light in the receiver and viewed the bore from the muzzle end.

Markings: The serial number "17676504" is stamped on the left side of the receiver. On the left side of the barrel is stamped, "The MARLIN FIREARMS CO., NORTH HAVEN CONN. U.S.A.". Below that is stamped, "MODEL 781- MICRO-GROOVE BARREL-22 CAL. -S.-L.-LR.". On the left side of the barrel, by the rear sight is stamped, "JM" within an oval. On the back right side of the receiver is stamped, "FIRE" and "SAFE". On the right side of the barrel is stamped, "WARNING BEFORE USING GUN READ OWNERS MANUAL FOR SAFE OPERATION". $ 399.99

. The blue shows some light scratches and some wear in the finish. The stock shows some light scratches and light dings in the wood. These were built in the 80’s from surplus parts by Fed. Ord. In California, The stocks were surplus M-14 units that were patched with wood to fill in the notch where the selector switch was located as can be seen in the pictures. Comes with the cotton sling and ONE 20 rd. magazines.
